There’s Little Wonder In Tim Burton’s ‘Alice In Wonderland’

March 5, 2010 by Kathryn Schroeder

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp create a new Alice In Wonderland story that’s lacking in wonder but looks great regardless.

Film Review: ‘Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince’

July 26, 2009 by Russell Espinosa

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

this is as close to a Hogwarts horror film than any film preceding it. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scarier, more art-house influenced, and the most emotionally satisfying of the mythology thus far.

Film Review: ‘The Informers’

April 24, 2009 by Kathryn Schroeder

Mickey Rourke in The Informers

The Informers is not for everyone. It lacks a great deal of what you would expect from a movie and does not care. It takes patience and a level of acceptance to the nature of the story to truly understand and enjoy the experience of watching the story unfold. For it is full of excess and exaggeration and never actually finds its moment of redemption.

Film Review: ‘The Soloist’

April 24, 2009 by Kathryn Schroeder

Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx in The Soloist

The Soloist is a truly wonderful film that will make you believe in the power of friendship and that acceptance above all else is the greatest gift one can give to another. The performances are absolutely fantastic and it moves at such a pace you only become more and more engrossed in the story as time passes. And for those who have a love for classical music, or the ability to appreciate the beauty in it, you will only dive further into the wonder and the power it holds.
