The Coachella Music Festival is know for many things, including: 1. A great line-up of musical talents 2. Being a weekend long party 3. Causing insane amounts of traffic across the desert, and 4. Attempting to re-vive the spirit of Woodstock, each and every year since its inception. One thing Coachella has never been known for is movies–until now. The night before the music-inspired partying begins Roadside Attractions and Filter Magazine will have the West Coast Premiere of Director David Mackenzie’s film Tonight You’re Mine, starring Adam Treadway (Attack the Block, Clash of the Titans) and Natalia Tena (“Game of Thrones”, Harry Potter, co-founder of Molotov Jukebox). The film will play twice on Thursday, April 12th at the Cinema Palm D’Or; the screenings are at 7pm and 9pm.

Tonight You’re Mine was shot entirely on location at Scotland’s own acclaimed, and famous, music festival ‘T in the Park’, and is a not so ordinary romantic comedy about two musicians who are bound, literally, by handcuffs and must perform at the festival despite their fight resulting bondage handicap. The film promises to be “filled with lust, mud, betrayal, booze, portaloos and a hundred thousand people celebrating the greatest music in the world.” There does not sound like a better way to start the festivities that are Coachella than by seeing Tonight You’re Mine; something has to prepare you for James, Radiohead, LA Riots, Mazzy Star, The Black Keys, The Shins, Florence and the Machine, The Hives, and all of the other great musicians who will be at Coachella this year.

About the music in the film:
Tracks from Tonight You’re Mine were written by Eugene Kelly, founder of Glasgow band The Vaselines, and Luke Treadaway by working closely with electro-industrial producer Rico Capuano. Glasgow-based musician Brian McAlpine worked with The Dirty Pinks (Morello’s band), building on Tena’s influences and bringing a rockier, guitar-based edge to their sound.
Tonight You’re Mine opens in Los Angeles and New York on May 11th, followed by a national release. The film is rated R for language and some sexual material.
