Film Review
With two separate story lines that do not intersect until close to the end of the film you are left wondering for most of it what role the Madea character has in the story, if any at all, except to moan and pick fights with her family and strangers. The real story belongs to the characters Joshua and Candice and it is far from comedy; but even with it's dark and dramatic subject matter it makes for a story that gives you faith in the power of friendship and redemption.
Aside from a few moments featuring Madea the comedy is nonexistent. There are no great laughs to be had or much of anything that really makes you want to smile. If laughter is what you desire, look elsewhere.
